Le Corbusier ci costruisce una cappella nel 1955. Jean Prouvé realizza un campanile negli anni Settanta e di recente, nel 2011, Renzo Piano lavora sulla collina. Così è nato l’insieme architettonico armonioso composto dal monastero Santa Chiara, dalla Portineria, dal campanile e dalla cappella Notre-Dame du Haut. Essa è iscritta sulla lista del Patrimonio mondiale dell’umanità dall’UNESCO nel luglio 2016 in quanto edificio eccezionale.
